The FSCNS is very involved in the Scottish community in Nova Scotia. The Federation takes pride in its programs and community service.
Annually, the FSCNS provides a scholarship grant to a graduating student of St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, who will be continuing their studies of the Gaelic Language in Scotland.
As well, the Federation makes regular donations to the Ship Hector Foundation.
The FSCNS receives many applications for assistance during the course of our fiscal year, and each receives careful consideration for support.
The Federation also undertakes a "School Visitation Program." By invitation, members of the Federation will visit schools and talk with the students. We facilitate presentations and discussions on plants, animals, imports, exports , music, language, and Scottish heritage.
